Stowe, VT. June 7, 2002—In keeping with its long tradition of supporting the performing arts and community programs that encourage tourism in Vermont, Springer-Miller Systems has donated $10,000 to the Lamoille Country Players (LCP) for enhancements to the lighting system at the Hyde Park Opera House.

“LCP is extremely delighted to have the support of Springer-Miller Systems to significantly broaden the scope of our productions,” said Roger Marcoux, past LCP Board President and current Board Member. “We rely on the proceeds from our productions to sustain the group from one year to the next, but require the support of donations like this to make lasting improvements to this wonderful old theater. This donation has given us more artistic lighting controls and the ability to modernize the Hyde Park Opera House system to current standards. LCP is so thankful for Springer-Miller Systems’ commitment to making theater in Vermont so successful.”

The scope of the lighting improvement project has included purchasing 18 new lighting instruments as well as expanding the dimmer controls. This has not only improved the artistic capabilities of lighting various shows, but has also brought the entire lighting system to more contemporary safety standards.

The Lamoille County Players is a non profit organization dedicated to promoting the performing arts by: providing high quality and affordable theater experiences for Lamoille County’s residents and visitors; providing a supportive, educational and fun atmosphere for cast and crew members; and maintaining and facilitating the use of the historic Hyde Park Opera House as a vibrant space for Lamoille County Player productions and other performing arts events.
