When Springer-Miller Systems, Inc. (SMS) was founded in 1984, hotels and resorts in New England’s famous ski area, Stowe, Vermont, were anxious to find a user-friendly yet comprehensive property management system with a “destination” property focus. SMS met the challenge by developing a versatile system to automate hospitality management. After years of development and testing, ^SMS|Host was introduced into the marketplace. As a comprehensive and fully integrated hospitality solution, ^SMS|Host not only meets the needs of hotels and resorts, but is designed with guest service at its core, making it the system of choice for lodging properties of all kinds.

In 1995, following its success throughout North America, Springer-Miller Systems began an international expansion effort to broaden its worldwide accessibility. Springer-Miller International, LLC (SMI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Springer-Miller Systems, Inc., has been leading this effort. Through its international division, SMS has expanded its reach into Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Pacific Rim. Regional headquarters have been opened in Kettering, England (SMI-Europe) and in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (SMI-Asia/Pacific) to ensure global presence, product localization, and quality customer service.

Following many years assisting ‘mixed-use’ resorts in automating timeshare operations needs, in 2000 Springer-Miller Systems acquired Resort Computer Corporation, a leader in timeshare technology, and embarked on a mission to build the timeshare industry’s first truly integrated technology solution.

In 2002, Springer-Miller Systems acquired SpaSoft, the leading name in spa scheduling software. In combining the two companies, we are committed to making sure both SpaSoft and the ^SMS|Spa Resort Management module will remain independent, each with its own special capabilities. It is our plan to continue supporting and developing both products.

Today, PAR Springer-Miller Systems meets the technology needs of all types of hospitality enterprises including city-center hotels, destination spa and golf resorts, timeshare properties, and casino resorts worldwide, setting the pace as a pioneer in the hospitality industry.
